BIOGRAPHY
LISA PTAK, Account Director
With more than 15 years of experience in public relations and marketing, Lisa has worked with a variety of brands – from household names to start-ups – to help them achieve their business goals. From strategic planning to execution, Lisa thrives on the opportunity to work closely with her clients and become a true extension of their team.
Lisa works with both B2C and B2B clients across Approach’s portfolio, specializing in media relations and thought leadership. Always curious, in between connecting with journalists and collaborating with clients, you’ll likely find her reading about her clients’ industries to gain new perspectives.
Lisa’s career began at a boutique PR agency in Chicago, which led her to PR powerhouse Edelman. There, Lisa played a key role in Brita’s FilterForGood campaign, which won the industry’s top awards, including the IPRA Golden World Award, Holmes Report Sabre, PRSA Anvil, and the first CLIO award for PR. During her tenure, Lisa also worked with Kraft, Kingsford Charcoal and Mars Petcare, on robust campaigns that included activations at Sundance Film Festival and other renowned events. Later, Lisa joined the International Foodservice Manufacturer’s Association as director of integrated marketing where she worked with food companies and restaurant operators to elevate IFMA’s role in the foodservice industry.
Though Lisa initially dreamed of becoming a journalist, during her studies she discovered a passion for the world of public relations. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a minor in writing from Illinois State University.
Always Looking Forward
Let’s face it. Things don’t always go our way, but the more time spent on negative talk, the more time is wasted. When a challenge arises, I focus on ways to improve the situation and find the opportunity for personal and professional growth.
