LIZ WOERTH, Head of Talent

As the first consultant Megan ever hired, Liz has learned a thing or two about what it takes to grow and thrive at Approach. She is keenly aware of what makes this agency so special: exceptional talent, a roll-up-your sleeves attitude and a passion for doing whatever it takes to help our clients and team succeed.

At Approach, Liz serves as Head of Talent. In her leadership role, Liz is responsible for bringing together the very best senior-level talent to serve our clients. From  recruitment and hiring to staffing and capacity management as well as culture-building and more, Liz ensures that we're living our agency's core values each and every day.

Previously, Liz spent nearly two decades in client service, building and executing integrated communications strategies for national and local accounts—spanning B2B and B2C industries, including strategic planning, media relations, executive positioning & thought leadership, influencer engagement, event management, crisis communications and many more.

Liz’s work has been recognized by national and local media and industry organizations, including PRWeek, Central Ohio PRSA, Columbus Business First and the American Marketing Association. Liz was also recognized as a “Person to Know in PR and Marketing” by Columbus Business First, and her client work earned Approach its first national industry award by PRWeek.

Before joining Approach, Liz was an Account Director at Chicago’s Golin where she oversaw global and national programs for McDonald’s, including the Olympic Games, Mom’s Correspondents and FIFA World Cup. She also worked on World Children’s Day, and led the All American Basketball Games, which raises funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Before Golin, she worked at Edelman's PR21, and Ketchum.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Public Relations from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.

LIZ...

Thrives on storytelling. Sharing the right idea with the right reporter at the right time, and generating a great resulting story continues to be the best part of her job.

Is proud of the long-term, trusted client partnerships we’ve created at Approach. Several clients have been with us since the beginning and now they feel like family.

Believes in picking up the phone. Maybe it’s old school, but when pitching media or counseling a teammate or client, she chooses live conversations over email, every time.

Would rather read than do almost anything else. An avid reader, she easily blows through 75-100 books each year. (Yep, you read that right.)
